UK Groundworks Calculator (groundworkscalculator.co.uk) is a free tool for estimating materials for patios, driveways and paths. This policy explains what information is collected when you use the site and the choices you have. It is run by an individual in the United Kingdom, who is the data controller for the purposes of UK GDPR.

The calculator itself

All calculations run in your browser. The measurements you enter are not sent to us or stored on any server. There are no accounts and we do not ask for your name, email or any other personal details.

Hosting

The site is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical information such as your IP address and browser type to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse, and provides us with aggregate, anonymous visit counts. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Advertising and cookies

The site is kept free by advertising served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to show ads, limit how often you see them, measure their performance and — only with your consent — personalise them based on your interests.

When you first visit from the UK, EEA or Switzerland, Google's consent message asks for your choice. You can accept, decline, or manage individual purposes and partners. If you decline, you may still see non-personalised ads, which use limited data for purposes such as fraud prevention and frequency capping.

You can change your choice at any time using the Privacy and cookie settingslink that Google displays on the page, or by clearing this site's cookies in your browser. Affiliate links

Some links to retailers are affiliate links, marked “Ad” next to the link. If you click one and buy something, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. It never changes the quantities the calculators show.

We currently use the Awin affiliate network (for Wickes). When you click an affiliate link, Awin and the retailer may set cookies or record the click on their own sites so the sale can be credited to us. We don't set any tracking cookies ourselves, and we don't pass them any personal details.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have rights including access to, correction and deletion of personal data held about you, and to object to its processing. Because we do not hold personal data ourselves, most requests relating to advertising are best directed to Google using the links above, but you are welcome to contact us. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new “last updated” date.
